A Little Bit of Everything
The Brazilian Raintree
Since I grow bonsai indoors, I can choose from many different trees and I love it. Even just thinking about the foliage colors you have everything from the washed out greens typical of sun lovers through to the deep, dark greens of the trees that live deep in the jungles. They have trees with shapes from short and fat to long and narrow. Take them out of the jungle though and these awesome giants can become some of the most delightful miniature trees like this Brazilian Raintree.
It’s a pre-bonsai which means that whoever you buy this tree for will have the chance to influence its style and shape, choose the pot and really make it their own. You’ll need to water if carefully and remember to do it before the plant is completely dried out. Some trees seem to thrive on the boost in local humidity they get from a pebble tray and I think it will be a good idea for this Raintree. . Put it where it will get lots of bright, but indirect light and definitely keep it out for the afternoon sun. If you take it outside for the summer, don’t wait too long before you bring it in. There are after all, no Brazilian Raintrees growing wild in Michigan!
